Tuesday Tales and a Sultry Image

Image
Happy early Valentine's Day! This week our group writes to a very sexy inspired photo: Our picture prompts are only 300 words, no less - no more. Let's see how this image inspired me this week.   "We are open with each other, I’m still the same woman.” “I’m not the same man.”  I wouldn’t leave anything open ended. “I know you are, Rudy. You have a new energy.” She leaned down to kiss me, lingering face to face, catching my gaze. “You’re extraordinary.” How could Lola not know this energy came from our connection?  “In many ways, you make me better. When I first met you, I didn’t know what I was missing out on. You filled the gaps, all the spaces my love needed to go.” “Love?” Hiding a shy smile, she spurred me on, I couldn’t stop now. “But, we have a strange beginning.” “I won’t stop coming to the LockHim Room. We created an atmosphere of trust, love- the ultimate connection. I trust you more than anyone.” “I know, I loved ...

Tuesday Tales...A Stutter Step Changing His World

Image
Happy January Tuesday Tales... Today, I return to my current WIP, Personal Fouls, Book 3 for my Fantasy Leagues series. This week our group writes to the rather rebellious word,  stutter . Read a little more about Rudy... “How are you not resentful? You worked your whole life for your dream. Football was your life.” “I was damn resentful for a long time. You didn’t see me when this first happened.” How could I quantify my life to her? I matured more after the accident than in all my years before. “The only dream I’ve ever had was acceptance, to matter to someone besides my mom.” “Oh, Boo, you matter, you inspire people to challenge their insecurities. You invoke change when you walk into a room. You command attention without saying a word, and none of it’s because you’re so damn beautiful.” She leaned over, wrapping her arms around my neck. “I want to hold onto you forever.” "I'm more of a man now that my legs feel nothing. My heart takes up the...

Tuesday Tales are Getting Ruthless

Image
Happy January Tuesday Tales... Today, I return to my current WIP, Personal Fouls, Book 3 for my Fantasy Leagues series. This week our group writes to the rather rebellious word, ruthless . Read a little tidbit about Rudy... Before I could legally sit in the front seat of a car, I played football. Some kids played video games, soccer, went fishing, or watched cartoons, I was practicing. Every Sunday, I watched football all afternoon with my pops. He taught me about downs, off sides, running plays, penalties, and everything else I needed to know to make me invincible. I spent hours throwing a football through a tire swing in the yard. I needed accuracy with the perfect spiral meant to leave the defense in the dust. Pops got me into little league football, giving me the chance to show my skills to the bigger kids. The difference between me and all the other boys, I breathed this game twenty-four seven, and it showed. By no surprise, I broke every school record for...

Tuesday Tales and a Groovy New Year!

Image
Happy December Tuesday Tales... Today, I return to my current WIP, a Game of Inches, for my Fantasy Leagues series. This week our group writes to the word prompt, new year. opens so many possibilities, doesn't it? Let's peek in on when Lola and Marty first met. Happy New Year everyone!! “C’mon, you’re gonna miss the ball drop.”  I threw a handful of popcorn in Lola’s direction. “I will reiterate, back around Halloween when you asked if I wanted to watch the ball drop on New Year’s Eve, I believed you invited me to New York.” “If I was gonna take you to New York for the New Year, we’d at least be sharing a bed.” I raised my eyebrows a few times. “Aw, chex mix, Marty. Why’d you have to go and drag sex into our friendship?” Lola pulled a few fluffy popped kernels out of her curls. She settled in next to me on the couch. “Do you think Dick Clark is immortal?” I studied the wrinkled image of the famous host with a crooked smile. On my sixty inch screen, the man look...

Amazon Link     Smashwords Link "She is a stark reminder of what my life could have been. Sharlyn can't die, she's barely had a chance to live.” She paused, her body stiffened and she looked down. "Maybe she might even want a chance to get to know me." "I'm sorry Sharlyn is going through this. I never thought about wanting children. I've always been too busy. Sometimes I think an extension of me would be more of a curse than a blessing I'd put on a child." "You'd be a wonderful mother, with your gifts, adventurous nature, and huge heart. I've witnessed it. Your dogged ...

Image
new release day for me!! http://www.amazon.com/Split-Uprights-Fantasy-Leagues-Book-ebook/dp/B00PO958T0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416102584&sr=8-1&keywords=Split+the+Uprights&pebp=1416102584785 Okay, I self-published my first book this weekend. The first book in my Fantasy League series entitled, Split the Uprights. What happens when you mix men and women in a fantasy football league? Lots of sexy competition and instant rivalries. Owner of Fantasy Leagues, Lola Fontaine, maintains two identities, one as loving matchmaker and the other as ball busting Dominatrix. In the LockHim Room, her muscle toned guys never know what to expect.  With reclusive statistician, Eugene Carlton, they believe they have the perfect formula for romance. All their success takes a place on the Wall of Flame. But, do they really know anything about true love connections?  She takes awkward Danika Parker under her wing and teaches her everything she doesn't know about love. However...

Tuesday Tales Will Telling the Truth Doom Love?

Image
Happy Fall Tuesday Tales... Today, I return to my current WIP, a Game of Inches, for my Fantasy Leagues series. This week we write to the beautiful picture prompt below. Three hundred words...what can I set up for you? Will Lola tell Marty the truth? “I love living here. I had to move far enough away the memories of you couldn’t haunt me.” “A breathtaking view.” I imagined his place in the summertime, when the waxy leaves shone a bright green, glistening from the reflections off the water. I imagined what it would look like covered in snow, quietly falling with a fire roaring in the living room. I imagined pulling a sheet of freshly baked cookies out of the oven, setting them on the counter to cool. I imagined everything in sixty long seconds I was doomed to never have. Marty moved cautiously, remaining behind the sofa. Apparently, an unnecessarily heavy sleigh sofa would keep me away. He completely underestimated my ninja skills. “Lola, I’m shocked you visited me...

No Way November....Tuesday Tales

Image
Happy Tuesday and welcome to The Locker.  Today, I move to book two of my current WIP, A Game of Inches, for my Fantasy Leagues series. This week we write, to the word prompt "flower".  “Irony huh? I also went to see my mom. She is now hoarding jigsaw puzzles. However, we came to a mutual understanding, so, I’m looking past all the pieces scattered around in her house. They give her a feeling of completion not normally occurring in her reality. I get it.” “Only with you could I be so dumbfounded.” “You could never be dumb, Eugene, it’s why I hired you.” “A figure of speech, I intended dumbfounded as a figure of speech.” “So, here’s the deal. I will be really out of commission for a few weeks. I have a legit reason. I don’t trust anyone else to run Fantasy Leagues. Will you please stay with me to see this through and start basketball?” Silence. “Please?” “Lola, just when I think I can walk away from you, both middle fingers standing proudly, you thro...

Boo-sday Tales...I mean Tuesday Tales - Happy Halloween

Image
Happy Creepy Tuesday and welcome to The Locker.  Today, I move to book two of my current WIP, A Game of Inches, for my Fantasy Leagues series. This week we write, appropriately, to the word prompt "ghostly".  Inside, I sniffed the aromas of dried, rotting wood. The breeze carried the rustic smell of fall through failing windows. I took short steps, almost tiptoeing across the warped floor. Finn read my mind. “Watch out, there’s boards missing close to where you’re stepping.” I looked around, directing the flashlight beam around the large area. “You’re right, this isn’t the kind of place Lola would willingly come.” “Let’s go through all the space before we leave. We want to be thorough.” Finn snapped on rubber gloves. I smiled. Over the years, the snapping sound indicated taking care of business. I thought of the classic song, BTO, baby. I know about some good music, my parents did a wonderful job of exposing me to the classics. I pulled gloves from my back p...

Tuesday Tales - Ending up a Kidnapper Short

Image
Happy Hot Tuesday and welcome to The Locker. We are changing it up. FINALLY Book one is with The Editor! TaDa! Boom! Today, I move to book two of my current WIP, A Game of Inches, for my Fantasy Leagues series. This week we write to the word prompt "short". Poor Lola, she can't "catch" a break any better than I could catch a touchdown pass from Peyton Manning. shameless pun. “Yes, Danika, I had a colorful childhood.” “Colorful? That’s just stupid, Lola. You were sexually abused, physically abused, and emotionally abused. You have too much abuse in your past to ignore, hoping it dies an agonizing death. It's your inner voice, crying for help.” “No, that would have been the sound of my youth meeting the reaper.” “Still want to make jokes? I don’t see how.” She really had the brain of someone warped into a cult. Looking back now, I realize my parents exposed me to trashed up stuff. However, the more I hear from Lola, the more I feel I wa...

Pretty Little Perverts...or Normal? Tuesday Tales

Image
Happy Hot Tuesday and welcome to The Locker. Today, I again return to my current WIP, re-titled Split the Uprights for my Fantasy Leagues series. This week we write to the word prompt "pretty". I keep thinking I won't have another edition for Tuesday Tales from this book, but, I keep writing more. :) Danika and Finn still haven't made that connection...will they ever?  Neither of us belonged here and we knew it. However, had we not made the stupid decision, the normally wrong decision to join this ridiculous club, we wouldn’t be sitting here sharing cheese dip and draft beer. Love finds a way. Love splits the uprights and scores the critical points. Love is the champion, the reason for the game. Love is way fucking bigger than the Lombardi Trophy and a thousand times as valuable. We might be the only two in this whole room to know the secret. I wanted to sit here forever. I had a feeling she had the same idea. “Finn?” My mouth momentarily wouldn’t wor...

TUESDAY TALES? YEP, We are BACK! waving "ribbons"

Happy Hot Tuesday and WE ARE BACK for Tuesday Tales? Today, I return to my current WIP, re-titled Split the Uprights for my Fantasy Leagues series. This week we write to the word prompt "ribbon".   It's exciting because I'm so close to the end of writing this first book. Which means, it will retire from soon from Tuesday Tales. I may get one or two more out of it. :) I'll just have to wait and see.   Danika was there that day when my uncle took me back to that house one last time. I was supposed to stay in his truck. I don’t even know why I was with him. The look in her eyes, it wasn’t pity, it was empathy. But, my immature mind couldn’t tell the difference. I thought she was afraid of me and I didn’t want to hear her insults. I heard them enough at school. But, how could his beautiful creature want to hurt anyone? I still wouldn’t take the chance. When she opened her mouth to speak, I ran back to my uncle’s truck. He told me to stay inside anyway and...
