Tuesday Tales and Life in a Yellow House

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Our Tuesday Tales group is writing to a picture prompt this week- 300 words no more/no less. Could you relax in this serene, quaint little cottage? I think I could.  However, maybe not if you're a crime scene clean-up crew. Once again, I'm pleased to return you to my new WIP, the Fantasy Leagues....Book One - Multiple Scorgasms. "My brothers all work in the family business, so, my parents are in good hands with passing the company along. Unfortunately, it’s a thriving endeavor, so, will be profitable for years to come. Why should I say unfortunately? Because my parents own a biohazard remediation service, also known as crime scene cleanup. My family must be at their best during some of the worst in times. I don’t think the reasons behind why my parents went into this line of work are terribly important. However, a multiple homicide in our local small town shocked the citizens and the family had nowhere to turn for help getting that mess o...

Tuesday Tales - Why Are You So Pale?

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Welcome to Tuesday Tales. I introduce you to a  WIP I have going under my sweet pseudonym Allee Mae. It's the 3rd in my YA paranormal romance series the Critter Getters. This book is entitled  Finding Love in a Black Lagoon.  Our prompt today is the word "pale".  Pale has many connotations, and I'm sure you'll find a variety of uses with our Tuesday Tales bloggers. “This is all so much to let out in one afternoon. Can we call time out and pick this conversation up again later?” Pearl sniffled, dry tears wouldn’t fall, she’d cried too much in the past. “Yes, we can.” Owen held onto Pearl’s shoulders, but, situated her in front of him. He looked into her eyes, her face pale, almost sallow. “Don’t be afraid to talk to me. I think we both have heavy demons to unload. I’d say we broke enough ice for one sitting.” “Thank you. Owen, you’re a good man. I’m glad I met you.” “I want you to spend the rest of the week with us. Our inv...

Tuesday Tales Traipsing Through a Field

Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Welcome to Tuesday Tales. I introduce you to a new WIP I have going under my sweet pseudonym Allee Mae. It's the 3rd in my YA paranormal romance series the Critter Getters. This book is entitled  Finding Love in a Black Lagoon.  Our word prompt today is "field" and I have plenty I can say with this particular prompt. Without further ado...please see my snippet with "field" as the prompt word. Owen’s voice became uncharacteristically gruff. “I said I would be okay, I’m a grown man. Dammit, you aren’t my mother.” Caleb stomped off. “Sure, you’re okay, don’t come griping to me when you get cancer or some radioactive sickness.” He yelled ahead to the girls. “Owen’s gonna stay here in the weeds and get ticks. He said never mind about him.” The breeze settled through the brush and dipped low, providing relief from the heavy air. Pearl smiled at Owen and offered him a bottle of water. “Thirsty? Looks like you guys have been hiking ...

Tuesday Tales Conquering a Hill

Amazon Allee Mae Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Welcome to Tuesday Tales. I introduce you to a new WIP I have going under my sweet pseudonym Allee Mae. It's the 3rd in my YA paranormal romance series the Critter Getters. This book is entitled  Finding Love in a Black Lagoon.  Our word prompt today is "hill" and I have plenty I can say with this particular prompt. Without further ado...please see my snippet with "hill" as the prompt word. Breathing hard, she ran off the dirt path and down a squat hill into a swath of small trees. The pointy branches poked and scratched her smooth skin, drawing blood in squiggly shaped patterns. She stomped on rocks and stickers in her bare feet, further toughening their hide. The sun glared through holes in the dense foliage, stinging her sensitive eyes. She hurdled dead felled trees, landing as lightly as a deer without breaking stride. The noise behind her quieted, confusing her senses, yet sharpened her awareness. S...

Just Out of My Grasp - How Much is Too Much?

Image
12/05/2013 Ahoy Fellow Fathomers, I’ve decided to use my blog not only to writing, music, and other facets of entertainment, but, also to share my journey. I found out on June 19, 2013 the reason for many of my ongoing health problems is because I have systemic lupus, also known as SLE. BRAKE HERE- I visited the University of Colorado, Denver November 13, 2013 for a second opinion. The incredible Dr. Susan Boackle University of Colorado Rheumatology agreed to see me as a new patient. She evaluated all my medical records to date and worked me into her schedule. She took a 2 hour comprehensive history with me, ordered urine tests, x-rays, and also blood tests. The phlebotomist drew 19 vials of blood for all the tests. I had juice and cookies before they let me stand up, they took almost as much blood as a donation for blood drive. I waited almost impatiently for the week to be up and my results. I wanted to know if the medication I was taking was appropriate for what was going ...

Flasher Fiction Friday - What Evil is Behind These Eyes?

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers, this Friday I return to my first recurring blog contribution, the Friday Flash Fiction. A group of writers will write exactly 100 words, no more no less, to a picture prompt. After you read my contribution, please read what the other writers have to say, the links follow. Happy Friday! Pearl envisioned the group of bullies getting closer before she heard their hideous voices yelling threats of torment and maniacal laughter. The Lord of the Flies mentality permeated the group of reckless kids and today, their intensity scared her. Pearl thought how their eyes seemed evil, almost inhuman, especially the leader- the iris wasn’t even a normal color.  She focused on the sticky mud at the bottom of the river and imagined her rescuer. Pearl deepened her breathing, almost to a yogic state and forced almost every ounce of breath from her lungs, and her  well timed nervous system calmed her.  For more on this unique photo prompt, please visit the...
