Flash Fiction Friday - Don't You Love Sitting in his Lap?

Image
TGIF Fellow Fathomers and welcome to the last day of January 2014. I hope you are staying warm where you are. I skimmed an article today that explained parts of Alaska had warmer weather than parts of the contiguous 48 States. This is crazy. But, all this cold weather does mean you can cuddle with the one you love and keep warm. And, so the chill of the month is perfect for the picture below. Just how warm do you think these two are? What story do they have to tell? Well, here is my interpretation is just 100 words, no more, no less for this Flash Fiction Friday piece: “This is how I like it best, when I can look into your eyes and see how much you want me. What happened to that feeling? Where has it been?” “Stop thinking so much, just enjoy the moment…the here and now. I’ve missed you so much, can’t you tell?” “I didn’t think we’d ever find ourselves here again, wrapped up in each other. In a way it feels like I don’t know you.” “Maybe you don’t, Stormi, maybe we

Tuesday Tales Staring Into a Mirror- Do We Always Like What We See?

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Welcome to Tuesday Tales. I introduce you to a new WIP I have going under my sweet pseudonym Allee Mae. It's the 3rd in my YA paranormal romance series the Critter Getters. This book is entitled  Finding Love in a Black Lagoon.  Our word prompt today is "mirror" and I have plenty I can say with this particular prompt. Without further ado...please see my snippet with "mirror" as the prompt word. Owen tried again. “Pearl, is that you?” He parted the underbrush to get a better look. However, he stopped before he made any actual forward progress. The rest of the group stood back, speechless, and watched Owen’s movements. Owen looked to Caleb for assistance.  Caleb shifted his backpack and moved backward, but he subtly pointed toward the young woman. Owen gulped and nodded. “Hello? My friends and I just want to know if you’re okay.” With still no response, Leandra got involved. “Hello in there, we just want to know you are safe,

Saturday Sippers in The Locker - Happy BDAY Sister and Grandma!

Image
Here they are in a birthday past shot. Sister Chrisee and Grandma Helen Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Welcome to the feature here in The Locker called Saturday Sippers. This year I focus on some of my favorite adult beverages. Most will contain alcohol, but, some will not. Today, in honor of my middle sister’s and my Grandma’s birthdays I will highlight two of my favorites – Middle Sister wine and Birthday Cake vodka. I found Middle Sister wine at a target store I believe. I was so impressed because I do indeed have a middle sister…and she loves wine! For a reasonably priced bottle of vino- from Napa-, you can explore several varieties: Direct from the Middle Sister Wine Home Page : “Did you know that birth order is commonly believed to have a profound and lasting effect on psychological development? We did. And that is why we have dedicated these wines to the sister in the middle - the one who always seems to have a personality of her own and steals the show. Not everyone has a win

Just Out of My Grasp - Did Someone Say Snow?

IT'S COMING NEXT MONTH! HOPE YOU'RE READY! Ahoy Fellow Fathomers, I’ve decided to use my blog not only to writing, music, and other facets of entertainment, but, also to share my journey. I’ve had significant health problems for almost two years. Initially, my rheumatologist diagnosed me with systemic lupus (SLE) on June 19, 2013. However, the medication wasn’t working and I kept getting worse and developing new symptoms. So, after second, third, and fourth opinions, my neurologist believes instead I have fibromyalgia.   I hear some of you sigh and groan. Frankly, I don’t blame you. Because for a long time, I was one of THOSE people. Yea, THOSE people. The ones who snubbed my nose at the notion of Fibromyalgia. I know I’ve said it before, but, it bears repeating because I want anyone reading this to understand how important recognition and respect for this disease is. An auto-immune disease of any kind is a formidable opponent, but, luckily, I’m harnessing it. For the

Without further ado...please see my snippet with "hill" as the prompt word. Breathing hard, she ran off the dirt path and down a squat hill into a swath of small trees. The pointy branches poked and scratched her smooth skin, drawing blood in squiggly shaped patterns. She stomped on rocks and stickers in her bare feet, further toughening their hide. The sun glared through holes in the dense foliage, stinging her sensitive eyes. She hurdled dead felled trees, landing as lightly as a deer without breaking stride. The noise behind her quieted, confusing her senses, yet sharpened her awareness. S

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers and welcome to the Friday Flash Fiction...the source for 100 words for one shot...one picture is only worth 100 words in here. What do you think of the picture above? An exploding star perhaps? A witch casting her spell? Some crazy person actually holding dry ice in their hands? Our little group will compose our best interpretation of this photo. Each writer will post their 100, so, give each of us a visit and comment. Tell us what you think.  Enjoy “What do you want me to say, Owen? That I shoot sparks and lightning bolts from my fingertips.” Pearl angrily laced up her trail boots and stood abruptly. “I’m sorry, Pearl, I’m not trying to ruin our picnic. I’m asking questions, that’s all. I’m trying to understand you.” Owen reached up and lightly gripped her hand. Pearl shook him off and walked toward a tree stump, she quickly sat down on it. “I don’t care if you believe me or not. I didn’t ask for any of this and I’d much rather be alone than

Tuesday Tales -- Putting the Buzzzzzz in Satin

On Ellicott Street Buy Link Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Welcome to Tuesday Tales. I introduce you to a new WIP I have going. It's a snarky, yet, erotic romance entitled Cheaper to Keep Her. Our word prompt today is "satin" and I have plenty I can say with this particular prompt. Without further ado...please see my snippet with "satin" as the prompt word. ***CONTAINS EXPLICIT CONTENT* “I don’t know who in the world would like satin sheets. They’re slippery and never stay on the bed the right way.” Stormi tugged at the fitted fabric pulling it into place. “It’s supposed to be sexy, feel good on your skin. You don’t think so?” Stormi’s best friend, Peaches Johnson fiddled with a pillowcase. “Peaches, would you please stop daydreaming and just hand me that pillow.” Stormi gruffly pulled it out of her hands. “What’s gotten into you lately anyway? You used to be fun and crazy. Now you just sit around all moody and cranky. There isn’t anyone in a t

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! This Friday Flash Fiction has a hawt man waiting to be bound. What sparks your mind? Our group of writers will write exactly 100 words, no more no less, to a designated picture prompt. My 100 words comes from my brand new adult romance entitled, Cheaper to Keep Her . After you read my contribution, please read what the other writers have to say, the links follow. Happy Friday! See my contribution below: “Baby, why don’t you let me chain you to the bed? You know get some whipped cream, that flavored oil, and the vibrator?” “Whatev…you caveman. I thought you were finally going to tow that junk truck project out of my yard. That’s what that chain would be good for.” Stormi Goddard rolled her eyes at her husband. “Leave it to you to ruin a good sex moment.” “Last time we tried you couldn’t get it up.” Jensen Goddard shrugged his shoulders. “Ever think it might be…well, you?” He leaned forward and lowered his voice. “That’s why I suggested the

But, after second opinions and many more doctor visits, my neurologist believes it is actually Fibromyalgia. At any rate, no autoimmune disease is a good diagnosis, but, to me, Fibromyalgia is a blessing compared to lupus. Thank you for listening, each week I will have a new installment chronicling my journey. Please, please feel free to comment, write, share. I hope to use this forum as a help to all of us, no matter what pain you are experiencing. You may also send stories to me via finlessbook at gmail dot com.
