Tuesday Tales, More than a Flavor

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! This week our group writes to the ominous sounding word- flavor.    Fro m Heart Nectar , a new WIP for a new series please see my interpretation. “You’re falling in love. You can’t hide it.” Instantly, the barricade fortified Mindie’s hesitance. Matters of the heart didn’t fare easily into her admissions. Vulnerability squeezed her vocal cords, almost shutting off her words. “I don’t know.” “Well, I do, I’ve seen love a million different ways. You’re not an exception. This glow doesn’t come from anything else.” “You can see it?” Dear Lord, she didn’t want to be just another sap. “What’s wrong with making it known? Shit, be truthful with yourself. You’re trying to hide from me, your self-proclaimed best friend who’s like family. Your act doesn’t work. Stop insulting my emotional intelligence. You’re really an idiot denying what’s going on inside your own soul.” “It’s tough letting go.” “You’re damn right it’s t...

Tuesday Tales- Not One for a Grim Heart

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! This week our group writes to the ominous sounding word- GRIM.    Fro m Heart Nectar , a new WIP for a new series please see my interpretation.   Never had anything made his heart so grim. Could she really turn away, never seeing him again? George had to convince her otherwise. "You are a woman who feels deeply. You aren't skeptical, logical, or doubtful, instead you fight for the possibilities.   “I'd rather have someone like you in my life, then anyone without a sense of fantasy. Until now, I'd never really wanted to take the time to stop Charles. I'd always accepted him for the asshole he was.” His voice lowered, cracking in desperation. “Now that he hurt you, I couldn't stand for it to go on another day." The darkness shadowed on Carolyn’s minor facial expressions. Yet, he could see everything from her soul. They should put everything behind them where the negative belonged. "Unfortunately, I believe e...

Tuesday Tales...Is That a Mug in Your Pocket?

Image
This month is flying by while I do my best to get a glimpse of each day.  It's already time for another installment of TT. This week our group writes to the word prompt, "mug". "I can't get enough of your ugly mug.” I found Finn’s mismatched coffee cup collection irresistibly cute. Clasped between my hands, the heat of morning coffee had nothing on the warmth of my heart. “I don’t think I’ve ever made coffee for a girl before.” “Aww…one of those things you really shouldn’t say out loud though. Not to the girl you just made coffee for.” I had to bust his balls a little, I didn’t know how to play the part of lovey dovey morning after. “We’re both walking in unfamiliar territory. I like being on an equal playing field with you.” Waking up to Finn’s tousled hair in my face beat just about any perfect sunrise I’d ever seen. My awareness of femininity tripled in his naked morning after presence. Feeling beautiful didn’t always come easily wearing my man...

Tuesday Tales Will Telling the Truth Doom Love?

Image
Happy Fall Tuesday Tales... Today, I return to my current WIP, a Game of Inches, for my Fantasy Leagues series. This week we write to the beautiful picture prompt below. Three hundred words...what can I set up for you? Will Lola tell Marty the truth? “I love living here. I had to move far enough away the memories of you couldn’t haunt me.” “A breathtaking view.” I imagined his place in the summertime, when the waxy leaves shone a bright green, glistening from the reflections off the water. I imagined what it would look like covered in snow, quietly falling with a fire roaring in the living room. I imagined pulling a sheet of freshly baked cookies out of the oven, setting them on the counter to cool. I imagined everything in sixty long seconds I was doomed to never have. Marty moved cautiously, remaining behind the sofa. Apparently, an unnecessarily heavy sleigh sofa would keep me away. He completely underestimated my ninja skills. “Lola, I’m shocked you visited me...

Tuesday Tales and a Super Moon Moment

Image
Happy Hot Tuesday and another edition of Tuesday Tales. Today, I return to my current WIP, Multiple Scorgasms for my Fantasy Leagues series. We are writing 300 words to this gorgeous photo of the moon.  I didn't see the supermoon on Saturday night, even though I was outside. I studied the stars and forgot about it, but, I did see some other amazing photos. Please check out my 300 as we examine what Finn sees in Danika.... She was there that day when my uncle took me back to that house one last time. I was supposed to stay in his truck. The look in her eyes, it wasn’t pity, it was empathy. But, my immature mind couldn’t tell the difference. I thought she was afraid of me and I didn’t want to hear her insults. But, how could his beautiful creature want to hurt anyone? I wouldn’t take the chance. When she opened her mouth to speak, I ran back to my uncle’s truck. He told me to stay inside anyway and I didn’t want to anger him. I needed a home and didn’t want him to kick...

Better Than a Cover Reveal! It's the Trademark Tattoo Reveal!

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Today is an awesome Wednesday and I hope everything is going your way in May…(see how I made that rhyme?) Maybe my euphoria is a bit over the top but, I’m so happy to share with you my new trademark. It will be my new tattoo and I couldn’t be more ecstatic. Allee's Quick Rendition My beautiful and talented 14 y/o daughter, Alexandrea, drew me a quick rendition of what I wanted. She captured my vision well and I was so ready to see it in color. A friend has some beautiful portrait tattoo work on his arms, and he referred me to his artist, Kayden DiGiovanni, of Dallas Tattoo. Kayden used Allee’s image and created a beautiful and lasting doppelgänger of what I think my writing means. Kayden's Artwork I love flowers and you will find me rescuing bouquets of clearance flowers from the back of Kroger. These guys need a home and a little wilt is nothing. They are beautiful to me. Fresh flowers represent life, beauty, and the potential to make anythi...
