Today in The Locker is my bestie Brian...he is a righteous beast. This man dedicates 24/7- 365 to ending MS. He doesn't have MS, he has a strong body and strong mind to work for those who do suffer from MS. I'm proud to call this man friend and lucky he is part of my circle in life. Please consider a donation to help his fight...he's raised thousands of dollars up to now, even $5 pushes for a cure. Thank you for listening, periodically, I will have a new installment chronicling my journey- A DIAGNOSIS A LONG TIME IN THE WORKS Hello, Fellow Fathomers, I appreciate your kindness, inspiration, and support. Now after failed medications, not getting better, developing migraines, gaining almost 40 pounds, peripheral neuropathy, change medications, new medications…it’s a lot folks. But! I finally have conclusive blood results. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Sjogrens. I don’t know much about RA, I know the autoimmune disease, Sjogr...

I've decided to make a little turn and have a guest host for the next few weeks. My friend Brian is a beast. He cycles more miles in a year than I probably drive in my car. He has a passion for health, and shares an equal passion to eradicate MS. Please be kind to Brian and give him a warm welcome. Hugs- My name is Brian Jones. I am an avid cyclist riding to rid the world of Multiple Sclerosis. As we embark on a new year, I want to share some highlights of the South Central US chapter of the National MS Society: 9 Bike MS events raised approximately $24.7 million. 32 Walk MS events raised approximately $3.2 million. 11 leadership events raised approximately $840k. Their network of human service professionals is connecting people affected by MS to solutions that address the challenges and obstacles in their l...

Hugs- Research on immune activity in MS Understanding and stopping MS in its tracks requires a better understanding of the role that the immune system plays in this disease. This system is involved both in the inflammatory attacks on myelin and, very possibly, in the injury to axons (the wire-like nerve fibers) that contributes to longer-term disability. Research on the immune system includes studies on: Understanding components of the immune system such as T cells, B cells, and antibodies. Identifying new targets for ther...

Second, the diagnosis cannot be made until the doctor finds evidence of two episodes of disease activity in the central nervous system that have occurred at different points in time — which means that confirming the diagnosis is sometimes a waiting game. And third, most MS symptoms can also be caused by other conditions, which m...
