Does This Look Sexual to You? #Secretary

Image
Ahoy   Fellow Fathomers! Happy Friday the 13th and Valentine's Day! I’m stuck inside for the majority of the day when I really should be exposing these reflector enhanced legs to some sunshine. Not that I tan well anyway, but I can at least achieve a muted shade of ivory over bright fluorescent white. I will not voice an opinon either way on FSOG. I've read many books, some including BDSM elements, and I write books with some BDSM elements. Please know this blog embraces all books in the genre. Since I’m inside, I can write to you all! So, today in The Locker, Jumping on the bandwagon, I decided to talk about the recent hullaballoo over the raging BDSM and erotic romance craze sweeping the globe.   Yep, if you are on this blog, chances are in my favor that you know what I’m talking about, you know this Fifty Shades of Grey thing. I find it ironic that in one of my all time fave movies, Secretary, the lead male protagonist’s name is E. Edward Grey. Coinci...

Tuesday Tales- Go for Silver!

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Happy Tuesday and time for another edition of Tuesday Tales. This week I take you  to another still yet unnamed romance WIP, to include the word, "silver". Please enjoy!     They toured homes during the hot, sticky month of July. Matthew threatened several times to bail on the arduous task of finding the home of their dreams.   However, Emily’s determination to move before the baby’s arrival was unyielding.   By the third weekend in a row, they found themselves in a stalemate.    “Ok, please, just come with me today, I need you on this one,” Emily begged Matthew.   “How can you enjoy trudging through stale-smelling homes, most of which have no electricity to even cool them down?”   Matthew replied grumpily. “Today is the day, I can feel it honey, seriously, then, we won’t have to do this again for a very long time.” Emily widened her green eyes in his direction, and he knew he was a goner....

Noodling - An Okie Tradition

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Today in The Locker I pay tribute to the longstanding tradition of noodling. Otherwise known as "hand fishing" in some parts of the country. This fascinating hobby is actually a rite of passage in some families and taken very seriously by anyone involved in the sport. You must take it seriously, otherwise, things can get fairly dangerous beneath murky water. According to Wikipedia, the method of noodling http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noodling  is explained as such: "Although the concept of catching fish with only the use of the arm in the water is simple enough, the process of noodling is more complicated. The choice of catfish as the prey is not arbitrary, but comes from the circumstances of their habitat. Flathead catfish live in holes or under brush in rivers and lakes and thus are easier to capture due to the static nature of their dwelling. To begin, a noodler goes underwater to depths ranging from only a few feet to up to twenty feet and p...

Release Day!

If this was any other Tuesday of the year, life would still be good because I'm here to enjoy it with the ones I love most. However, it is not an ordinary Tuesday, oh no, it is release day for Finless and sweetens this normally benign weekday!  My hard work, blood, sweat, and tears are available for you, my Fellow Fathomers, in the form of my heartfelt literary contribution. Please take a moment to click Finless and visit my publisher, Secret Cravings Publishing, (who BTW just won as Publisher of the Year for the RWA New York Chapter--whoop whoop!) for details on how to purchase. Please also take a moment to visit my celebratory release day author interview with Hesperia Loves Books! http://www.hesperialovesbooks.com/2012/04/03/blog-event-interview-with-author-davee-jones/comment-page-1/#comment-10616

Aphrodisiac Anyone

Image
Hello Fellow Fathomers!!!  Today is another edition of the Friday Flash Fiction.  100 words, no more-no less, where we describe what we see in one photo. What would you say about this: It was not the Fountain of Youth that they’d searched for all their lives. Yet, after dipping their bodies into the tranquil waters, something magical indeed happened. The water had the faint scent of olive oil and citrus, and felt deliciously sensuous with the slippery feeling of the finest most luxurious emollient. It wasn’t just the way the water caressed their bodies. The magical sense of passion, excitement, and sheer joy overwhelmed their senses and rejuvenated their love for one another. They had indeed found a true aphrodisiac when everyone else in the world had given up even finding it. Now that you have read my interpretation, please check the blogs of my friends for their imaginative prose.  Be aware, some of the other blogs may contain explicit material. Happy Friday everyo...
