Colin Firth, What's the Appeal? I Could Go On and On...

Image
Ahoy fellow fathomers, it's been a long time since I had a personal entry in my blog, but, I've been doing some thinking and decided to get back on the blogging horse. So, last night, I'm watching Bridget Jones's Baby , the final installment of my favorite of all time movies series. There's just something about Bridget I identify with. Maybe it's the awkward, self-conscious part of me I will never shake. And, I'm okay with it. I need an element to keep me from getting too stagnant and comfortable with life. You know, that inner voice driving me forward, keeping me going and never giving up. Life is a marathon, not a sprint. As a singleton, I looked to romance movies as an escape, a way to fantasize about my own Mr. Right. And, in that first movie, oh Lord, Colin Firth took my breath away. Mr. Mark Darcy, the Barrister with an impeccable swagger and captivating all business- with a sexy undertone- voice. There's no way he could fake the entire role. ...

Tuesday Tales Is This S$%T Getting Old?

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! This week our group writes to the complex word, old . So, here we go from Heart Nectar , a new WIP for a new series. “Loneliness is getting old.” Barely audible, Nixie dropped her head, hiding her face. “I’m confused, do you mean getting older is lonely or loneliness itself is getting old?” Brant scratched his head, his eyes pleading for understanding. “I’m not trying to be dense. I truly don’t understand what you mean.” “Ugh, men, boys, anything with a glied , how do you get by every day without self-destruction? Why did I think I could talk with you about…about anything? Next time, I’ll listen to my woman’s intuition and not talk.” Pulling her hair back away from her face, she roughly tied her long hair into a ponytail. “I’ve got work to do, I really don’t have time to sit and cry. What do we owe you for the cow shit?” “Well, now you don’t have to insult me. You make it sound like something horrible when you say cow shit like that....

Tuesday Tales and Love Birds...ahhh spring

Image
Happy Spring Forward Tuesday Tales... Today, I present my current WIP, Love Birds This week our group writes to the rather innocuous word, stair . I put a different spin on the usual meaning for their introduction...   "This looks more like a stair step.” “You’re doing a great job. The birds will love it.” This do-it-yourself birdhouse looked more like a rectangle shipping box. I can’t believe my cousin talked me into this ridiculous party. “Terri, why did I let you drag me to this?” “Because you sit home every night watching romantic comedies and drinking your habitual one glass of sweet wine. You gotta get out of that apartment.” Positioning the nail just right, I poised my hammer to take aim. Raring back, I hit hard- much harder than I should. Especially since the nail dropped out of the little hole leaving my thumb exposed. “Holy shit that hurt!” “Dang it, Sunni, what did you do?” Terri became all motherly, using her six months older age as a...

Great New Review from Ind'Tale!

Image
Ahoy! I have another review to share. This time from Ind'Tale courtesy of Goodreads. I'm tickled to death for the latest review of my most recent release! here's a snippet: "The main characters are realistic and draw the reader into their struggle to explore their feelings and build a relationship. With elements of love, friendship, erotic sex scenes, humor, romance, and a hint of suspense, this titillating tale fires up the senses to deliver an entertaining read."  SEXY BEA SPELLING- Andrew pulled her close and leaned down to find her mouth with his own. He kissed her softly, yet thoroughly. “I will always reach your lips.” Bea needed sex and intimate human contact. She normally lived in overdrive every day, never heeding her deep feminine desires. But on vacation in the tropics, she fulfilled her hopes to escape her daunting lifestyle for a few days of wickedness. Fascinatingly, Andrew was there waiting to seduce her and surprised her with Tessa, a mé...

Tuesday Tales and Being an Author

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers and Happy Short Week to all in the cyberhood.  Our Tuesday Tales group is writing, appropriately, to the word prompt, "author" this week. Once again, I'm pleased to return you to my new WIP, the Fantasy Leagues....Book One - Multiple Scorgasms.  Finn Maxwell and Danika Parker Meet During the draft I didn’t meet anyone exciting until Finn Maxwell made it to my table. I couldn’t place it, but, there was something familiar about his eyes. When he told me he worked in physical therapy, I knew I probably had seen him during one of my routine rotations. He sometimes visited patients in the hospital for initial assessments. Familiarity is all I would have gotten. Since my focus isn’t on strangers, he would have been another stick figure in the crowd. But, his eyes, yes, I definitely felt a connection. This created an unpleasant excitement within me. The sense of acquaintance traced its way down from my pupils to the pit of my stomach. No...

Tuesday Tales...No One is Guaranteed It'll Ever Be Free

Image
Welcome Fellow Fathomers to Tuesday Tales. Our group will be writing to the word prompt "free" this week. Now, I've been giving snippets of Owen and Pearl's story in the TT, but, I can't do that anymore....because I have a contract on their story!!  Yay! Instead, I take you to a new series I've recently begun writing. I'm super excited about it and hope you will be too. For this excerpt, the owner and CEO of The Fantasy Leagues, Lola Fontaine, gives a little bit of her perspective...let's peek in. "For our first group meeting with the new participants for this years’ fantasy football league, as usual, I went slightly over the top. Okay, I went completely over the top of the mountain. I always do, for every first meeting. But, I have my reasons. No matter that I have a signed and binding contract, it always makes me nervous that someone will drop. I will do everything in my power to keep that from happening. It really screws with my numbers ...
