Tuesday Tales Flower

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! It's time for Tuesday Tales. A group of writers gather together and give our interpretation of a specific word prompt each week. This week we share the prompt "flower".  You never know what you might encounter when you get inside our minds.  This will be an excerpt f ro m my brand new yet-to-be-named WIP. Enjoy!~   “I remember your favorite flower.” Connor’s words floated through the air as he bent forward, plucking a tall proud Indian Paint Brush from the ground. When I was a child, I imagined Native Americans actually using these flowers to paint. Those lush red petals spreading some naturally made paint across buffalo hides and peace pipes. As a knowledged adult, I’m sure they couldn’t have used those flowers as a brush, although it’s magic to believe they did. Connor used to pick these for me every late spring. Even at an early age, he was learning h...

Tuesday Tales with Chain

Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! It's time for Tuesday Tales. A group of writers gather together and give our interpretation of a specific word prompt each week. Once per month, we even write to an image.  You never know what you might encounter when you get inside our minds. This week our group writes to the word-chain.    This will be an excerpt f ro m my new yet-to-be-named WIP. Enjoy!~ “I have people whispering behind my back too, but, they don’t do it as much the more time passes. Eventually they stop.” Owen thought back to the times when everyone in town looked at him with a mixed gaze of fear and pity. He hated it then and really hated it now. “Plus, I have tough skin, it all rolls off.” Owen knew that was a lie, but, it sounded good. “Let’s stop with the motivational speech. My life hasn’t been any good from as far back as I can remember. I was basically still a kid when everything got messed up. This isn’t about sticks and stones breakin...

Getting plastered at a wedding is the sign a good time has been had, but not when it’s the bride! Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Today in The Locker we have the lovely Amanda Ward, my friend from "across the Pond". This week we celebrate the release of her newest title, Viva Pann Vegas!  Viva is the sequel to the quirky fun of The MisAdventures of Pann Haggerty. The fun and games continue as Pann Haggerty travels around America with her ‘average’ Joe on their way to Las Vegas.  This time, Joe thinks he’s the one in charge, and able to handle his beloved quirky English rose.   Apparently not.   Surprises, secrets and wedding bells are in store.  Has Pann given Joe the answer to his big question? Read on in the second MisAdventure of Pann Haggerty.  Laugh at Pann’s antics, thrill to the romance, indulge in copious mugs of tea and try out the delicious recipes! Above all…enjoy. Excerpt One- “You know, Pann, this hand would look...

Does This Look Sexual to You? #Secretary

Image
Ahoy   Fellow Fathomers! Happy Friday the 13th and Valentine's Day! I’m stuck inside for the majority of the day when I really should be exposing these reflector enhanced legs to some sunshine. Not that I tan well anyway, but I can at least achieve a muted shade of ivory over bright fluorescent white. I will not voice an opinon either way on FSOG. I've read many books, some including BDSM elements, and I write books with some BDSM elements. Please know this blog embraces all books in the genre. Since I’m inside, I can write to you all! So, today in The Locker, Jumping on the bandwagon, I decided to talk about the recent hullaballoo over the raging BDSM and erotic romance craze sweeping the globe.   Yep, if you are on this blog, chances are in my favor that you know what I’m talking about, you know this Fifty Shades of Grey thing. I find it ironic that in one of my all time fave movies, Secretary, the lead male protagonist’s name is E. Edward Grey. Coinci...

TUESDAY TALES? YEP, We are BACK! waving "ribbons"

Happy Hot Tuesday and WE ARE BACK for Tuesday Tales? Today, I return to my current WIP, re-titled Split the Uprights for my Fantasy Leagues series. This week we write to the word prompt "ribbon".   It's exciting because I'm so close to the end of writing this first book. Which means, it will retire from soon from Tuesday Tales. I may get one or two more out of it. :) I'll just have to wait and see.   Danika was there that day when my uncle took me back to that house one last time. I was supposed to stay in his truck. I don’t even know why I was with him. The look in her eyes, it wasn’t pity, it was empathy. But, my immature mind couldn’t tell the difference. I thought she was afraid of me and I didn’t want to hear her insults. I heard them enough at school. But, how could his beautiful creature want to hurt anyone? I still wouldn’t take the chance. When she opened her mouth to speak, I ran back to my uncle’s truck. He told me to stay inside anyway and...

Saluting our Soldiers-Wounded Warriors Blog Hop

Image
Time for your chance to WIN and help a GREAT cause! My grandpa, Marine Lt. Col. Donald D Fereday died on Independence Day, July 4, 2003, forever haunted by the scenes he encountered while serving in Korea. Many of our men and women who serve become physically and mentally wounded everyday protecting our freedoms.  Ahoy Fellow Fathomers. By now, you know I enjoy creating fictional worlds readers will identify with. Although I hope readers escape with my words, I also entwine helpful storylines that might help make a difference. However, sometimes events and issues in our realm are not always comfortable subjects-I tackle them in some manner anyway. Today's blog is part of a special blog hop to raise money for the Wounded Warriors project. At minimum, the group of writers involved in this opportunity will raise $600 for their organization. If you would like to see how more you can help, please click this link Wounded Warriors . I will donate ...

Tuesday Tales Coming On Rather Abruptly

Image
I know last week I left everyone wondering where Joelle fell when the rotting walkway gave out. But, with this weeks' word prompt, abrupt, I couldn't fit it in! So, I'm moving back to my other work in progress, Sexy Bea Spelling. Let's see what Andrew thinks of Bea... “We don’t have to go home yet, do we?” “I’m still on administrative leave until they decide what to do with me, Andrew. You’re the one with a job in the morning.” The velvety nighttime sky set a perfect backdrop for the downtown Dallas skyline of lights. The ribbon of lights around the Omni Hotel changed colors as it cascaded down the numerous stories. The Reunion Tower ball glowed brightly with a dancing display of clear lights. They hopscotched around the orb in hyperactive motions. Andrew drove leisurely through the city holding Bea’s hand, his thumb stroking her palm. “You know what they say it means when someone scratches the palm of your hand, don’t you?” Bea leaned closer to him from he...

Flasher Fiction Friday - A Tainted Vampire?

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers, this Friday I return to my first recurring blog contribution, the Friday Flash Fiction. A group of writers will write exactly 100 words, no more no less, to a picture prompt. After you read my contribution, please read what the other writers have to say, the links follow. Happy Friday! “I’m not sure how much of a role I actually had, but, wow, I’ve seen a transformation.” Sarah didn’t want to reveal the heartfelt discussions of the past few hours. “I’m trying to marinate everything I’ve been through. When I met you, and you chose me, I can’t tell you what it did for me.” “We chose each other, love, everything between us is a mutual act.” Isaac stood up from the couch and walked toward Sarah. Sarah began withering in his presence, drawing away like desiccated fruit. “You don’t know what I’ve done in my life, Isaac. I’m tainted.” Please visit these other authors for their creative, and possibly edgy, interpretation of this gorgeous netherworld co...

Flasher Fiction Friday Do These Daisies Cover Me Well Enough?

“Did you know some people put flowers in their salad?” He took a large bite of endive and arugula. He put the bowl down and picked his video camera up. “Are you gonna share that? I’m starving, I’ve been going over these notes for hours and can’t find a single common denominator in the case.” “Sure, I’ll share, but, baby…” He began unbuttoning her blouse, “There is a caveat.” She smiled, “Which would be what?” “You’ll get naked and let me put this vase of flowers to a better use.” “Will you eat daisies from my nipples?” “Most certainly darling.” Please visit these other authors for their creative, and possibly edgy, interpretation ...
