Tuesday Tales and Prepare

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! It's time for Tuesday Tales. A group of writers gather together and give our interpretation of a specific word prompt each week. This week the word prompt is "prepare". You never know what you might encounter when you get inside our minds.  This will be an excerpt f ro m my new yet-to-be-named WIP. Enjoy!~ Owen sat beside the waning fire, staring into the glowing embers. Memories invaded his thoughts, turning this otherwise peaceful evening disturbing. He hadn’t talked to his former girlfriend, Morgan, for about six weeks. He had known Morgan as long as he’d known Caleb, since they were just out of the toddler stage. She became his best friend—he never thought of her as a girl until her beauty blossomed from behind the dirt on her cheeks and under her fingernails. The three of them were like peas in a pod, knowing each other’s secrets, even the devastating ones. Owen’s stomach churned while his chest burned. Tears threatened and h...

Tuesday Tales and It's All About the Band

Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! It's time for Tuesday Tales. A group of writers gather together and give our interpretation of a specific word prompt each week. Once per month, we even write to an image.  You never know what you might encounter when you get inside our minds. Impulsively, I ran in Forrest Gump splendor, skirting past d...

So, here we go from  Heart Nectar , a current WIP. “This is my wine.” Sitting beside a warm fire, Carolyn’s insides absorbed the healing properties of the perfectly aged blend. “This is one of my first vintages.” “The color is superb.” Charles tilted the glass, admiring the legs on the side. “Excellent body as well.” Sniffing the contents, inhaling deeply, he closed his eyes. “Very nice bouquet to match, you just might have your first medal winning bottle.” “We’re so excited to be part of the competition. It’s our first big show. Of course, we’ve been in some smaller shows. Hopefully, we do well and it gets our brand some exposure.” Nervously tapping the side of her glass, she finally put it on the table. “Thank you for stopping by, I wasn’t sure if you could include me in your schedule.” “Of course I could fit you in, a lov...
