Tuesday Tales- Is a Picture Worth 300 Words?

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Happy May 14th! It's time for another edition of Tuesday Tales. This week I take you  to a new installment in my YA series WIP,  Finding Love in a Black Lagoon.    We Tuesday Tales Authors present this picture prompt: Is this a tranquil street? Did a murder happen here? What's really going on in this would be Twin Peaks? "Owen leaned forward in his chair, his hands dangling in between his parted knees. “You don’t know what it’s like growing up in a small town. People can be awfully helpful, but, they can be just as judgmental. It was tough on me sometimes as a kid.” “I grew up just a short hop, skip, and a jump away from you, Owen. I know what it’s like. I think most everyone in Oklahoma feels the same way at one time or another.”  Pearl rubbed his arm gently, using long comforting strokes. She spoke in a low voice brimming with empathy. Owen Guthrie sighed, a rarity for this particular young man. He looked down at the...

Take a Walk with author, Sarah Cass

Image
Today in The Locker I welcome the beautiful and talented, Sarah Cass. If you’ve not read anything by Sarah, including her blog, I strongly encourage you to take a trip into her world. She weaves words wonderfully. And now, without further delay, Sarah takes over-- A Most Disturbing Place Last November I was carrying on a conversation with my mother.   We were killing time while my son was having some tests run during his hospital stay, and talk drifted to my writing. I was regaling my mom with what I thought were humorous stories of my contracted novels and characters.   I talked about my first novel, Changing Tracks (Dominion Falls #1) , and the torment my heroine, Jane goes through.   About her amnesia and the maniac hot on her tail. About the romance that’s woven through and the hilarious wit both the hero and heroine possess. After that I slipped into talk about Masked Hearts . I waxed a little nostalgic over the details of the Bear River Mass...

Tuesday Tales- Go for Silver!

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Happy Tuesday and time for another edition of Tuesday Tales. This week I take you  to another still yet unnamed romance WIP, to include the word, "silver". Please enjoy!     They toured homes during the hot, sticky month of July. Matthew threatened several times to bail on the arduous task of finding the home of their dreams.   However, Emily’s determination to move before the baby’s arrival was unyielding.   By the third weekend in a row, they found themselves in a stalemate.    “Ok, please, just come with me today, I need you on this one,” Emily begged Matthew.   “How can you enjoy trudging through stale-smelling homes, most of which have no electricity to even cool them down?”   Matthew replied grumpily. “Today is the day, I can feel it honey, seriously, then, we won’t have to do this again for a very long time.” Emily widened her green eyes in his direction, and he knew he was a goner....

This week I take you  to my new young adult romance WIP,  Eyelashes Freeze in North Dakota-But Not Warm Hearts.   Meet Cody, the one Adelaide has intrigued.  I present the following word prompt " future ": “Hey, doc, you here for me?” One fairly large and muscled male specimen approached him, limping as he made his way toward Cody. “Most definitely, I rather hoped you would have walked that limp off before I got here. Now, I really gotta take you seriously.” Cody found if he joked with the team members a bit, it relaxed them before he began the rehabilitation routine. These players attended UND on scholarship and all of them had professional hockey in their dreams. The players both revered and feared Cody’s presence for those reasons. They counted on him to get them literally back...
