Nail You to Your Promises...Tuesday Tales

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! This week our group writes to the word prompt, "nail". Would Marty ever change his mind?  From Steal My Heart, book 4 WIP from The Fantasy League series. “Good Lord, young lady, you sure make me feel my age.” “Yeah, old man, whatever, mid-life crisis years are still well ahead of you. Today is attributed to couch-itis.” The fifteen mile bike ride through an expansive nature preserve winded both of them. However, Sharlyn would never admit the truth. No breeze, the bright green leaves still in the heating, humid air, the day proved to be another hot one. “C’mon big brother, I’ll buy you an ice cream.” Suddenly, it occurred to Marty he hadn’t had ice cream, since, well, the last time with Lola. “Ice cream?” “Yes, you know, the frozen sweet stuff that adds pounds to your gut.” Recalling their goodbye, when she rejected him, she wouldn’t leave with him. She didn’t want a relationship. They were better suited as friends, blah blah blah. ...

Boo-sday Tales...I mean Tuesday Tales - Happy Halloween

Image
Happy Creepy Tuesday and welcome to The Locker.  Today, I move to book two of my current WIP, A Game of Inches, for my Fantasy Leagues series. This week we write, appropriately, to the word prompt "ghostly".  Inside, I sniffed the aromas of dried, rotting wood. The breeze carried the rustic smell of fall through failing windows. I took short steps, almost tiptoeing across the warped floor. Finn read my mind. “Watch out, there’s boards missing close to where you’re stepping.” I looked around, directing the flashlight beam around the large area. “You’re right, this isn’t the kind of place Lola would willingly come.” “Let’s go through all the space before we leave. We want to be thorough.” Finn snapped on rubber gloves. I smiled. Over the years, the snapping sound indicated taking care of business. I thought of the classic song, BTO, baby. I know about some good music, my parents did a wonderful job of exposing me to the classics. I pulled gloves from my back p...

Tuesday Tales...No One is Guaranteed It'll Ever Be Free

Image
Welcome Fellow Fathomers to Tuesday Tales. Our group will be writing to the word prompt "free" this week. Now, I've been giving snippets of Owen and Pearl's story in the TT, but, I can't do that anymore....because I have a contract on their story!!  Yay! Instead, I take you to a new series I've recently begun writing. I'm super excited about it and hope you will be too. For this excerpt, the owner and CEO of The Fantasy Leagues, Lola Fontaine, gives a little bit of her perspective...let's peek in. "For our first group meeting with the new participants for this years’ fantasy football league, as usual, I went slightly over the top. Okay, I went completely over the top of the mountain. I always do, for every first meeting. But, I have my reasons. No matter that I have a signed and binding contract, it always makes me nervous that someone will drop. I will do everything in my power to keep that from happening. It really screws with my numbers ...

Flasher Fiction Friday Delicious Welcome to 2014

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers, this Friday I return to my first recurring blog contribution, the Friday Flash Fiction. A group of writers will write exactly 100 words, no more no less, to a picture prompt. After you read my contribution, please read what the other writers have to say, the links follow. Happy Friday! The leather is supple against my skin and I’m not sure what’s happening next, but, it doesn’t matter. My mind is whirling with a thousand naughty images, each one just as delicious as the other. I’m waiting impatiently for her to remove the gloves and rake her sharpened nails against my tingling skin, hoping desperately her tongue follows. My erect nipples, hard as pegs, will be knobs in her warm mouth.  Yet it’s still just a fantasy in my excited mind. Thankfully now, as I wait for her to rise, her tongue is sliding across my slickened femininity. Welcome 2014.
