Take a Walk with author, Sarah Cass

Image
Today in The Locker I welcome the beautiful and talented, Sarah Cass. If you’ve not read anything by Sarah, including her blog, I strongly encourage you to take a trip into her world. She weaves words wonderfully. And now, without further delay, Sarah takes over-- A Most Disturbing Place Last November I was carrying on a conversation with my mother.   We were killing time while my son was having some tests run during his hospital stay, and talk drifted to my writing. I was regaling my mom with what I thought were humorous stories of my contracted novels and characters.   I talked about my first novel, Changing Tracks (Dominion Falls #1) , and the torment my heroine, Jane goes through.   About her amnesia and the maniac hot on her tail. About the romance that’s woven through and the hilarious wit both the hero and heroine possess. After that I slipped into talk about Masked Hearts . I waxed a little nostalgic over the details of the Bear River Mass...

Tuesday Tales takes you to Blue Ink - Embryo

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Happy Tuesday! It's time for another edition of Tuesday Tales. This week we had a choice of two word prompts " camera " or " noisy . I chose " camera ". Now, please meet this new installment in the Blue Ink series of demon stories. This creepy WIP,  Blue Ink - Embryo,  begins now with these 366 words.   “Do you have the web cam connected to your computer?” “I think so. This technology confuses me. How come I need to use this web cam instead of taking pictures with my camera and just email the images to you?” “Because, darling, I want to see you in real time. Don’t you want to please me?” “Of course I do! It’s just that…well…I really want to see you in person. We’ve been talking for weeks now.” “I told you, dearest, work has me on the road traveling so much, I haven’t had time. I’m working so much now to give me a long break soon. You know who I’ll be spending this long break with, don’t you?” “Me?” “Of course,...

A Last Visit to Blue Ink - Tuesday Tales

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Happy Tuesday and time for another edition of Tuesday Tales. This week I take you back one last time to my young adult paranormal thriller WIP, Blue Ink- The Skin Stalker. This book is now 99% finished and the excitement is taking me over! Soon, I will submit for publishing consideration, so, please wish me luck.  For this week's word prompt, we use " package ", very appropriate for a book about a killer, don't you think?   "When Colin returned from the run, The Skin Stalker was still in the same location.   He noticed Colin look around, as if he felt The Skin Stalker’s presence.   The Skin Stalker smiled and knew he rattled Colin’s steely reserve.   Could he already know Maggie’s fate?   Colin was such a self-centered person. The Skin Stalker knew that not even Maggie’s death would interfere with his daily activities-therefore, he imposed the foul tasting reminder for the next day or so.   If anything, The Skin Sta...

Do Demons Vote? A Blue Ink "Election" Tuesday Tale

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Happy Tuesday and time for another edition of Tuesday Tales. This week I take you again to my new paranormal thriller WIP,  Blue Ink-the Skin Stalker -    For our journey to the unknown, I present the word prompt "election". Colin needed physical interaction to ease his mental trauma and right now, his stress meter was off the charts.   Melanie would be perfect.   He watched her pert breasts through her v-neck shirt, sweat beading underneath his hairline. Stop.   Get up.   Leave.   You are a murder magnet and some psychopath is tailing you.   It is not all about you, stupid arrogant asshole.   Colin ran through all the scenarios in his head and each one ended the same way.   Melanie folded into an equipment bag.   Then, on an autopsy slab.   He needed to move away from her, now.   “Hey, thanks for the coffee and the concern.   I just need to get home and sort some thi...

Am I Blue? If So, I've Lost Oxygen-Tuesday Tales

Image
Hello Fellow Fathomers! Today's Tuesday Tale involves the word or theme, " blue ". I chose to continue with my usual installments from my current thriller work in progress (WIP) Blue Ink- The Skin Stalker. "As the girls devised their plans for the rest of the day, it took Joelle away from the macabre research she had been doing.   She decided not to say anything to Suzette until she actually made it to Joelle’s house.   Suzette would be over in an hour or so and they would relax, gossip, and order in food.   They never really needed big plans; they just enjoyed catching up these days.   No doubt, Suzette would offer many opinions as to what was on Joelle’s mind lately.   Joelle took a shower and allowed the hot water to relax her tense and aching muscles.   She wanted to clear her mind so when she and Suzette discussed the recent events, she would be articulate and controlled.   Joelle could still not figure out why Colorado had be...

Dawn of a Dead Day-Tuesday Tales

Image
Hello Fellow Fathomers! Today's Tuesday Tale involves the word or theme, "dawn". I chose to continue with my usual installments from my current thriller work in progress (WIP) Blue Ink- The Skin Stalker. "...Anticipation filled his bowels with delight, as the reminiscent smell of death triggered giddiness in his black soul.   The day dawn ed perfectly.   A touch of dew kissed the grass and there was no wind.     The Skin Stalker waited for Maggie to appear just as the sun rose.   As she walked toward her vehicle, the crisp air caused her to shiver slightly. She pulled her warm-up jacket closer around her body against the chill of the morning.   She checked her bike and the bottles, satisfied with their security on the SUV. She unlocked the door, got inside, and pulled out of her space. The Skin Stalker followed her from a satisfactory distance as she drove across the quiet highway.   He wondered how long it had been since he had a ...

Bullied But Not Broken - Tuesday Tales

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! For todays' Tuesday Tale I bring to you another WIP entitled Leather, Laces, and Camping By The Sea . This dear to my heart YA novella profiles a young girls' struggle with being bullied and ostracized. I'm only about 5% into this work, it's taking some additional time as the subject matter is more difficult than some of the lighthearted fiction I also pen. Our prompt for this week is the following picture of a trunk , and I think I captured it well. Please read on to see if you agree... "I’m the oldest twelve year old you will ever meet. I suppose you could attribute it to the fact I have two older brothers, and my family friends have usually been older than me. However, I also blame it on the fact that I have dealt with issues that thankfully many kids do not ever have to face. I’ve been horrifically bullied and no one has ever actually laid a hand on me. But, the bruises I harbor on my insides linger like physical scars against my ...

Phobias! It's Friday the 13th...muah ha ha EVIL LAUGH

Image
Hello Fellow Fathomers and welcome to Friday the 13 th in The Locker. Today we celebrate by discussing PHOBIAS. According to the good folks at Wikipedia “phobia” is simply described as follows: “ A phobia (from the Greek : φόβος , Phóbos , meaning "fear" or "morbid fear") is, when used in the context of clinical psychology , a type of anxiety disorder , usually defined as a persistent fear of an object or situation in which the sufferer commits to great lengths in avoiding, typically disproportional to the actual danger posed, often being recognized as irrational. In the event the phobia cannot be avoided entirely the sufferer will endure the situation or object with marked distress and significant interference in social or occupational activities. [1] ” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phobia Therefore, while many people may throw the word “phobia” around to emphasize their specific fear, however, generally, the diagnosis of “phobia” comes with a heftier price ta...
