Does This Look Sexual to You? #Secretary

Image
Ahoy   Fellow Fathomers! Happy Friday the 13th and Valentine's Day! I’m stuck inside for the majority of the day when I really should be exposing these reflector enhanced legs to some sunshine. Not that I tan well anyway, but I can at least achieve a muted shade of ivory over bright fluorescent white. I will not voice an opinon either way on FSOG. I've read many books, some including BDSM elements, and I write books with some BDSM elements. Please know this blog embraces all books in the genre. Since I’m inside, I can write to you all! So, today in The Locker, Jumping on the bandwagon, I decided to talk about the recent hullaballoo over the raging BDSM and erotic romance craze sweeping the globe.   Yep, if you are on this blog, chances are in my favor that you know what I’m talking about, you know this Fifty Shades of Grey thing. I find it ironic that in one of my all time fave movies, Secretary, the lead male protagonist’s name is E. Edward Grey. Coinci...

Take a Walk with author, Sarah Cass

Image
Today in The Locker I welcome the beautiful and talented, Sarah Cass. If you’ve not read anything by Sarah, including her blog, I strongly encourage you to take a trip into her world. She weaves words wonderfully. And now, without further delay, Sarah takes over-- A Most Disturbing Place Last November I was carrying on a conversation with my mother.   We were killing time while my son was having some tests run during his hospital stay, and talk drifted to my writing. I was regaling my mom with what I thought were humorous stories of my contracted novels and characters.   I talked about my first novel, Changing Tracks (Dominion Falls #1) , and the torment my heroine, Jane goes through.   About her amnesia and the maniac hot on her tail. About the romance that’s woven through and the hilarious wit both the hero and heroine possess. After that I slipped into talk about Masked Hearts . I waxed a little nostalgic over the details of the Bear River Mass...

Winter Wonderland Post - My Nirvana Tuesday Tales

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Happy Tuesday and time for another edition of Tuesday Tales. This week I take you to my new young adult romance WIP, Black Diamond Hearts are the Most Difficult.   The following picture is a panoramic view of the mountains from my former hometown, Evergreen, CO. I present the following picture prompt: " Not a better backdrop existed on the planet for cozying up to an intimate interlude.  Matthew inspected the view outside the cabin window, thinking of his life to that point.    Although he was only a few years’ older than Laurel, Matthew had already been down the road of isolative athlete.   He even remained a virgin long past his buddies because he simply did not have time to adequately charm the pants, literally, off any girl.   He spent years in tunnel vision eyeing the top prize in the ski world.   However, the harder he tried to be a champion- getting within microseconds- just to fall short, became painfully ...

OCD, Thanksgiving, and Love...a Tuesday Tale

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Happy Tuesday and time for another edition of Tuesday Tales. This week I take you  to my new young adult romance WIP,  Eyelashes Freeze in North Dakota-But Not Warm Hearts.   Follow Adelaide's journey as I present the following picture prompt: "Adelaide washed her face, brushed her teeth, and braided her hair, wondering how many other people thought about their movements and actions as much as she did. She read the book, The Boy Who Couldn’t Stop Washing , when she was a teenager. The book detailed accounts of people suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, OCD, for short. The featured boy washed himself for hours each day, fearing germs. Other people relentlessly counted or checked things continuously- one woman plucked out each of her eyebrows in an obsession for symmetry of them. Over the years, she rationalized her actions were not as extreme as the examples in that book. However, having a sense of order consumed he...

Let's Meet a Sadist

Image
Welcome to The Locker today, Fellow Fathomers!   Thursday’s blog discusses my upcoming book, Finless.   Finless is a dark journey into the recesses of human extremities. If you have ever had a dark thought and wondered how “normal” it was, please realize that everyone has abrasive thoughts, edgy desires, and intense feelings at one time or another. It is how we choose to act on those mental barrages that separate the masses. Sarah, Nathaniel, and Lily resist unconditional love as they feed primal desires.   Not believing the possibility of having it all, they struggle to believe that they, the “least of these”, rightfully deserve a lifetime of love and happiness-- Especially with how graphically and unconventionally they choose to express themselves. Each of the characters comes to realize how tortured their lives have become.   Violent images, dreams, and actions occur as they spiral downward into their dark existence. Reaching personal impasses, they must decide ho...
