Flash Fiction Friday - Don't You Love Sitting in his Lap?

Image
TGIF Fellow Fathomers and welcome to the last day of January 2014. I hope you are staying warm where you are. I skimmed an article today that explained parts of Alaska had warmer weather than parts of the contiguous 48 States. This is crazy. But, all this cold weather does mean you can cuddle with the one you love and keep warm. And, so the chill of the month is perfect for the picture below. Just how warm do you think these two are? What story do they have to tell? Well, here is my interpretation is just 100 words, no more, no less for this Flash Fiction Friday piece: “This is how I like it best, when I can look into your eyes and see how much you want me. What happened to that feeling? Where has it been?” “Stop thinking so much, just enjoy the moment…the here and now. I’ve missed you so much, can’t you tell?” “I didn’t think we’d ever find ourselves here again, wrapped up in each other. In a way it feels like I don’t know you.” “Maybe you don’t, Stormi, maybe we...

Friday Flash Fiction Is It Really God's Hand?

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers and welcome to the Friday Flash Fiction...the source for 100 words for one shot...one picture is only worth 100 words in here. What do you think of the picture above? An exploding star perhaps? A witch casting her spell? Some crazy person actually holding dry ice in their hands? Our little group will compose our best interpretation of this photo. Each writer will post their 100, so, give each of us a visit and comment. Tell us what you think.  Enjoy “What do you want me to say, Owen? That I shoot sparks and lightning bolts from my fingertips.” Pearl angrily laced up her trail boots and stood abruptly. “I’m sorry, Pearl, I’m not trying to ruin our picnic. I’m asking questions, that’s all. I’m trying to understand you.” Owen reached up and lightly gripped her hand. Pearl shook him off and walked toward a tree stump, she quickly sat down on it. “I don’t care if you believe me or not. I didn’t ask for any of this and I’d much rather be alone ...

Happy Friday! See my contribution below: I kissed Teresa as she softly pushed me backward onto the bed.  “But, can you imagine having fifty years together, every day? I could wake up to you for hundreds of days, thousands of hours.” Tears pooled and fell down my face. I touched them, still amazed at my human advantages. “It’s a dream come true.” Ever the skeptical creature, Teresa shook her head. “At what cost? What would it be worth to lose what we have now.” “We wouldn’t be Godforsaken statues for at least fifty years!” Anger replaced my tears. “Please baby, don’t do this, let's not argue."   Now that you've read my contr...

Ahoy Fellow Fathomers, this Friday I return to my first recurring blog contribution, the Friday Flash Fiction. A group of writers will write exactly 100 words, no more no less, to a picture prompt. After you read my contribution, please read what the other writers have to say, the links follow. Happy Friday! Gripping the ice-filled tumbler, Bea placed the cool glass against her belly. Her mind swirling from the effects of an earlier couple of mai-tai drinks, the mojito launched her into a full-on alcohol buzz. The man smiled broadly in her direction, while the woman whispered something in his ear. He slid off the underwater bar stool and swam in Bea’s direction. Reaching the pool ladder, his muscled torso tensely rippled from using his abdominals to hoist himself up out of the water. Dripping across the concrete, he exuded confidence and heady sexuality with his swagger. “How'd you like your drink?”  Please visit these each of us as we put 100 words on this delicious photo:...

Happy Friday! “Tomorrow? I thought you had another day?” Andrew dropped the menu into his lap. “Well, tomorrow night, I have a nine o’clock flight, so, technically, I have a full day, rather, we have a full day.” Bea patted his exposed knee peeking from underneath a sheet. “It’s going so fast, and we slept most of today away.” A sullen Andrew scratched his chin. “Let’s eat, shower together, and make plans for our volcano excursion tomorrow. It’ll be fun.” “I guess…” “Please keep a good mood, we are having such a nice time, better than I imagined. Let’s keep it light.” Please visit the other flashers for their interpretation of this lovely p...

After you read my contribution, please read what the other writers have to say, the links follow. Happy Friday! “I’m not sure how much of a role I actually had, but, wow, I’ve seen a transformation.” Sarah didn’t want to reveal the heartfelt discussions of the past few hours. “I’m trying to marinate everything I’ve been through. When I met you, and you chose me, I can’t tell you what it did for me.” “We chose each other, love, everything between us is a mutual act.” Isaac stood up from the couch and walked toward Sarah. Sarah began withering in his presence, drawing away like desiccated fruit. “You don’t know what I’ve done in my life, Isaac. I’m tainted.” Please visit these other authors for their creative, and possibly edgy, interpretation of this gorgeous netherworld co...

Happy Friday! “Did you know some people put flowers in their salad?” He took a large bite of endive and arugula. He put the bowl down and picked his video camera up. “Are you gonna share that? I’m starving, I’ve been going over these notes for hours and can’t find a single common denominator in the case.” “Sure, I’ll share, but, baby…” He began unbuttoning her blouse, “There is a caveat.” She smiled, “Which would be what?” “You’ll get naked and let me put this vase of flowers to a better use.” “Will you eat daisies from my nipples?” “Most certainly darling.” Please visit these other authors for their creative, and possibly edgy, interpretation ...
