Saturday Sippers in The Locker Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Welcome to the feature here in The Locker called Saturday Sippers. Each week I’ll post a new, sometimes, skinny cocktail recipe for you to try. Many thinks to my Cali Bestie, Rhonda, for providing me with the deck of cards recipe book. J A bramble brings memories of a hearty cobbler made with peaches, berries, and other yummy stuff, so, the name of this drink intrigued me. JALISCO BRAMBLE! Ingredients ½ ounce lime juice ½ ounce grapefruit juice ½ ounce agave nectar 1 slice ginger 4 blackberries 1 dash peach bitters 1 ½ ounces tequila Lime wedge for garnish Pour lime juice, grapefruit juice, and agave nectar in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Muddle ginger with liquids then strain. Add blackberries, bitters, and tequila. Shake with ice and strain, add crushed ice and garnish with lime wedge. 120 Calories per serving

Ingredients 12 ounce can mango juice 12 ounce can pineapple juice 1 liter bottle of seltzer 1 bottle white wine Pineapple slices, orange slices, and lime slices Lemon and lime slices for garnish Pour all of the ingredients into a serving pitcher and add ice. Stir and refrigerate one hour. Garnish with lemon and lime slices. 94 Calories per serving

J The versatile margarita comes in many flavors to tantalize the taste buds.   This traditional recipe should appeal to the Conquistador in all of us.   MARGARITA ON THE ROCKS! Ingredients 1 ¾ ounces tequila ¾ ounce lime juice 1 Tablespoon light agave nectar ¼ teaspoon orange extract Coarse salt Lime wedge for garnish Salt rim of margarita glass.   In a shaker combine all ingredients with ice and shake vigorously. Strain over fresh ice into glass and garnish with lime wedge. 224 Calories For a subtle change in flavor, try cucumber infused tequila in this recipe. At my house, we are preparing for the big Independence Day celebration. With our family living on a ranch in Oklahoma, we have a large expansive prairie to shoot all the fireworks we want. The palm trees are blowing, the sand is soft, and the sun is shining- no better day to try this new drink than poolside or surfside. ISLAND BREEZE PUNCH! Ingredients 1 ½ ounces passion fruit flavored vodka 1 Tablespoon lime juice 1 Tablespoon lemon juice ¼ teaspoon orange extract 2 Tablespoons sugar-free pineapple syrup* ½ cup club soda Lemon and lime slices for garnish Mix all ingredients and serve over ice. Garnish with lemon and lime slices. Using real pineapple juice will raise the calorie content from 103 Calories, but, it tastes better!

BLUEBERRY LIME MARGARITA! Ingredients 2 Cups ice 1 cup frozen blueberries 1 cup blueberry nectar ¼ cup seltzer 2 T frozen limeade 1 T lime juice 3 ounces tequila Coarse salt Blueberries for garnish Directions Combine ice, blueberries, blueberry nectar, seltzer, limeade, lime juice, and tequila. Blend until smooth. Rub rim of two glasses with lime wedge and dip in salt. Divide margarita between the prepared glasses, garnish with blueberries and serve. 125 Calories

I celebrate Easter for a much bigger reason and it is actually a solemn occasion for the week leading up to a special Easter Sunday. However, the secular celebration of Easter conjures up images of bunnies, carrots, Easter eggs, and candy. In honor of the secular observance of Easter, here’s a spin on the margarita. CARROT CAKE MARGARITA! 1   oz carrot juice ½ oz red grapefruit juice ½ oz lemon juice 1 t agave nectar 1 ½ oz blue agave tequila Garnish with lemon and lime Combine all ingredients, shake and strain over ice into margarita glass rimmed with sugar.   Garnish with lemon and lime slices-float a baby carrot if you feel hoppy. ...
