Tuesday Tales - Give Me Such a Big Hug, You Squish My Boobs

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers and welcome to Tuesday Tales. We have a group of authors writing to a single word prompt, and the prompt this week is the simple word "hug". My mind conjures up everything from an innocent hug a momma gives to her bouncing bundle of love to a white hot lover's embrace. This word takes us so many places and answers so many unwritten questions when we just can't find the words to communicate with someone we care about. But today, I'm introducing you to a brand new WIP that's only 7K words in. It's with my beta reader now and I'm excited to get more words down. So, please enjoy my short piece about a "hug". According to the particular client meeting, I pipe in a digital music station statistically shown to improve the chances of closing the deal on a contract. With women like Danika, I set the station to happy love songs. It reinforces the hope and gives her the nudge to sign on the dotted line. Whereas when I s

Are Those Histamines in Your Pocket or are You Just Happy to See Me?

Hello Fellow Fathomers!!   I’ve decided to use my blog not only to writing, music, and other facets of entertainment, but, also to share my journey. I’ve had significant health problems for almost two years. Initially, my rheumatologist diagnosed me with systemic lupus (SLE) on June 19, 2013. However, the medication wasn’t working and I kept getting worse and developing new symptoms. So, after second, third, and fourth opinions, my neurologist believes instead I have fibromyalgia.   Thank you for listening, each week I will have a new installment chronicling my journey. Please, please feel free to comment, write, share. I hope to use this forum as a help to all of us, no matter what pain you are experiencing. You may also send stories to me via finlessbook at gmail dot com. I will respect your privacy and maintain your anonymity, if you so desire. Hugs for today … Spinach and Histamines and Darn Seasonal Allergies One of my favorite “new” foods for my healthier eating plan i

Is That a Mirror? What Do You See? Hopefully not Maleficent....

Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Welcome to Tuesday Tales. I introduce you to a  brand new WIP I have going to spice up my resume. This book is entitled  Nights Under Shining Armor.  Our prompt today is a beautiful picture.  It fits perfectly in my contemporary romance, plot lined around the sensational show, Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament. Please enjoy my 300 words: “I don’t know a thing about the Renaissance period. But, the clothes are cool.” Audrey Ryan lifted her skirt away from her feet and did a slight pirouette in the dressing room. “Do you really want this job?” Her best friend, Kate Simmons handled another dress hanging on a loaded rack of costumes. The entire back room was filled with smocks in a variety of colors. Surcoats with specific crests emblazoned on them represented different houses of the knights. Gowns, hoods, capes, and petticoats hung in order by size and like designs. Several mirrors adorned a long line of costume and make-up stations. The height-adju

Book Review of Jasinda Wilder's - After Forever...Book Two in the Ever Trilogy

Image
After Forever *****Snowflakes by Jasinda Wilder – Book Two in the Ever Trilogy Jasinda Wilder captured the essence of an ultimate quid pro quo...she even used that term in the book at one point. There were times it was hard to understand how Cade and Eden could commit such a betrayal. I began to imagine Cade looking at Eden and seeing Ever. I think he gave in to the physical pain and heartache and imagined it was his Ever. I know Ever and Eden are twin sisters, but, their connection is not as tight as some siblings, especially twins, can be. The underlying jealousy and misunderstanding each of them have for the other is evident and described so subtly. But, I knew it remained a deep part of the chasm between the sisters. I think Eden was horribly selfish in taking what she wanted without any conscience, it’s how she treated everyone. She justified her behavior by blaming her absent father and the death of her mother, but, as human beings we all know right

Saturday Sippers Live (well almost) from Austin Texas and #AustinBookFest

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Welcome to the feature here in The Locker called Saturday Sippers. Today is extra special because I’m spending it in AUSTIN, TEXAS! At the #AustinBookFest -featuring some amazing authors , devoted bloggers, and dedicated fans. Now, when readers and writers get together, there is usually wine involved. Maybe a little bit of chocolate and even cupcakes—or for the REALLY lucky, KOLACHES. Straight from West, TX But, something I look forward to after a hard week of workin’ is a red beer. Red Beer? There’s another name for it in these parts, and for the squeamish I’ll just apologize now…some bartenders call it a bloody beer. (no, it isn’t real blood.) I’ll just call it red beer for the sake of appeal. Further, if you’re from Mexico, or vacationed there, you might call it a Michelada. The Michelada has several variations, so, ask how your drink will be prepared before you order it. Budweiser has a canned version calle

Giving this Tuesday Tale a Nudge in the Right Direction

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Welcome to Tuesday Tales. I introduce you to a brand new spicy WIP I have going. My new series is entitled, The Fantasy Leagues.  Our prompt today is the word "nudge", and I will be giving this word my best push in the right direction. LOL Emma kept looking and my mind wandered to the surroundings. I keep my office very much different than I keep my personal space at home. I’m here to promote love, and the feeling of happily ever after. Fresh flowers always adorn a sofa table, today I have mixed carnations. I always keep one fresh rose in a bud vase on the left corner of my desk. I have assorted chocolates in a crystal bowl in the center. I can’t remember the last time I ate chocolate, but, my clients very much enjoy it. According to the client meeting, I pipe in a digital music station statistically shown to improve the chances of closing the deal on a contract. With women like Emma, I set the station to happy love songs. It reinforces the hope

Saturday Sippers - a Drink of a Different Kind....It's not for everyone, but might should be...

Image
Saturday Sippers in The Locker Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Welcome to the feature here in The Locker called Saturday Sippers. Today’s edition is going to be a little different. I’m going to talk with you about a drink…but, it isn’t one you will immediately enjoy. Matter of fact, you won’t want it for your usual happy hour. This is strictly a drink for when you will be home for several hours and have some time to relax. The Salt Water Cleanse. So, I’ve hit a wall with my weight loss and it’s very frustrating. I’ve been on Weight Watchers for about 3 weeks, and keep under my points. I’ve adjusted to a rabbit diet, (as these raw veggies and most fruits are zero points). I’ve been taking in extra fiber as a result. I’m in my workout routines, and feeling pretty good overall. So, can’t figure out why my weight loss stalled at 3 pounds. My beautiful yoga instructor suggested to me I partake in a salt water cleanse or flush. She said it helps to kick start her weight loss routine

Book, Review! Driven by K. Bromberg

Image
Book Review ***1/2 snowflakes Driven by K. Bromberg – the Driven Trilogy – Driven, Fueled, Crashed I decided to broaden my horizons both as a writer and a reviewer and join some readers’ Facebook groups. An online book club of sorts, I downloaded the first book in the Driven Trilogy, Driven , to catch up with the rest of the group, who were already on Crashed , the third book. So, I’m still one book behind, Fueled . Ms. Bromberg’s succinct writing style did not disappoint me. She did a very good job setting up the story and introducing the characters. She did not give away too much at one time, which I like.  I noticed several proofing errors, for example using seam vs. seem in the wrong spelling format. But, it only slightly detracted from my overall review. I did not feel the Hero, Colton, was completely likable. While it may seem romantic or thrilling to have a guy so desperately wanting you, it’s hard to accept what almost seemed like a stalker.  Ry

Tuesday Tales and the "END"

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Welcome to Tuesday Tales. I introduce you to a  WIP I have going under my sweet pseudonym Allee Mae. It's the 3rd in my YA paranormal romance series the Critter Getters. This book is entitled  Finding Love in a Black Lagoon.  Our prompt today is the word "end".  As a writer, one of our favorite things to type is "the end",  although it might not always be the favorite thing for a reader to read. :) “Kal and I are headed into town for a supply run. Anybody want anything?” Caleb’s hair was freshly combed and still slightly wet from a recent shower. “Dude, are you wearing cologne?” Owen leaned toward Caleb and took a big whiff. “That shirt you’re wearing doesn’t even have a stain on it either.” “Cut it out man, I just took a shower, that’s all.” Caleb shrugged his shoulders and as hard as he tried, he couldn’t shake the sheepish look he had on his face. Leandra took a long sip of her iced tea. “I think you and Kal are

Thespian Wench Thursday - Please Welcome Laurie White

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers....today in The Locker we have the lovely, Laurie White. Today, Laurie will give away a copy of her new release to one lucky reader. So, please give her a shout out in the comments section and leave contact information. She will draw one name.  As is my rule on Thespian Wench Thursday....the guest takes over...so, Laurie, take it away! Thanks for hosting me, Davee! It is always nice to guest on a fellow author's blog. I write romantic suspense, which is also my favorite genre to read...I just love that combination of danger and passion, and it's pretty fun coming up with a nasty, evil villain in addition to a smoldering, seductive hero and a feisty, sexy heroine! Rachel and Matt are both trying to put tragic pasts behind them, yet are drawn to each other despite their misgivings. I do hope your blog readers will check out WITHOUT A TRACE! EXCERPT: Something wasn't right.  Rachel Bennett felt uneasy from the moment she'd se
