Tuesday Tales and Life in a Yellow House

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Our Tuesday Tales group is writing to a picture prompt this week- 300 words no more/no less. Could you relax in this serene, quaint little cottage? I think I could.  However, maybe not if you're a crime scene clean-up crew. Once again, I'm pleased to return you to my new WIP, the Fantasy Leagues....Book One - Multiple Scorgasms. "My brothers all work in the family business, so, my parents are in good hands with passing the company along. Unfortunately, it’s a thriving endeavor, so, will be profitable for years to come. Why should I say unfortunately? Because my parents own a biohazard remediation service, also known as crime scene cleanup. My family must be at their best during some of the worst in times. I don’t think the reasons behind why my parents went into this line of work are terribly important. However, a multiple homicide in our local small town shocked the citizens and the family had nowhere to turn for help getting that mess o...

Saturday Sippers - Is That Champagne or Sparkling Wine?

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Welcome to the feature here in The Locker called Saturday Sippers. This year I focus on some of my favorite adult beverages. Most will contain alcohol, but, some will not. Today, in honor of Valentine's Day, I will discuss the difference between champagne and sparkling wine. Bubbly from all other regions in the world are simply referred to as "sparkling wine".  Ah ha, so, not every bubbly is champagne.  Basically it's a category, or a name, simply dependent upon the region in which it's produced.  There are as many sparkling wines as there are flavors of soda pop, therefore it would be almost impossible to narrow down all my favorites. But, I still ha...

Here they are in a birthday past shot. Sister Chrisee and Grandma Helen Ahoy Fellow Fathomers! Welcome to the feature here in The Locker called Saturday Sippers. This year I focus on some of my favorite adult beverages. Most will contain alcohol, but, some will not. Today, in honor of my middle sister’s and my Grandma’s birthdays I will highlight two of my favorites – Middle Sister wine and Birthday Cake vodka. I found Middle Sister wine at a target store I believe. I was so impressed because I do indeed have a middle sister…and she loves wine! For a reasonably priced bottle of vino- from Napa-, you can explore several varieties: Direct from the Middle Sister Wine Home Page : “Did you know that birth order is commonly believed to have a profound and lasting effect on psychological development? We did. And that is why we have dedicated these wines to the sister in the middle - the one who always seems to have a personality of her own and steals the show. Not everyone has a win...

Flasher Fiction Friday - Is That a Pineapple in Your Pocket?

Image
Ahoy Fellow Fathomers, this Friday I return to my first recurring blog contribution, the Friday Flash Fiction. A group of writers will write exactly 100 words, no more no less, to a picture prompt. After you read my contribution, please read what the other writers have to say, the links follow. Happy Friday! Gripping the ice-filled tumbler, Bea placed the cool glass against her belly. Her mind swirling from the effects of an earlier couple of mai-tai drinks, the mojito launched her into a full-on alcohol buzz. The man smiled broadly in her direction, while the woman whispered something in his ear. He slid off the underwater bar stool and swam in Bea’s direction. Reaching the pool ladder, his muscled torso tensely rippled from using his abdominals to hoist himself up out of the water. Dripping across the concrete, he exuded confidence and heady sexuality with his swagger. “How'd you like your drink?”  Please visit these each of us as we put 100 words on this delicious photo:...
